Verify if the Hopper received is the same as shown in the Owners Manual. it was Not the same. – I discovered that the Hopper I received was not the same identical one as shown in the Owners Manual sent with it. There were differences I discovered during assembly. So the Hopper frame with the pre-drilled holes were not matching the Hopper Net grommet holes. This caused a lot of dificulties and frustration to get it done. In hopper tube assembly, gthere is a digram of a tube tht is up-side-down and backwards in perspetive to the next asssembly step. This was not apparent withouthout very careful observation of the drawing, which had to do later. Also, a support rod tab attachment is completely different andit cannot be placed right. Overall it was a difficult and frustrating experience. I should have contacted Cust. Service and reportred it BEFORE proceeding further. Which I didn’t do. Finally I had to contact them, send pictures of what I had done, and they reponded with the corrections on the frame construction. However this did NOT completely make the supporting Rod attachment right. I will have to modify it, which I will. When completed, it is a very good unit. I am sure that if the Hopper had been as the drawing it would have been easy….or, if a later version of the Owners Manual would have shown the Hopper I received, with all the frame holes drilled in the correct locations to match the Hopper Net grommet location, would have been easy. That is why I recommend contactng Cust. Serv. immediately if there appears to be any variances…or whatever else. I DINT RECIMNMEND ANYONE BUYING THIS KIT. IT IS AWFUL TO PUT TOGETHER. BUY AN ASSEMBLED ONE FROM A LOCAL STORE. BPD

Yard Tuff…..A little tuff to put together… – This is the second Yard Sweeper that I have owned. This one had the worst assembly instructions I have ever read and the instructions did not match the hardware in the package. That being said I was determined to put it together. It took me several hours to accomplish it. Not having proper instructions and different hardware made it a challenge.

Take your time in assembly – The directions for assembly were atrocious. After a few modifications of my own it will be ok

Absolutely terrible assembly instructions, but a nice unit once you’re done – Received this sweeper yesterday afternoon, and went to work first thing this a.m. assembling this “quick assembly” item. I immediately ascertained that the “quick 3 step assembly” was a blatant lie as I removed the numerous parts from a box that looked as though it had been through a small battle and lost. Fortunately all parts were (for the most part) there as someone along it’s journey used about half a roll of tape to keep the box intact. I found the “instructions” (and I use that term loosely) crumple at the bottom of the box along with a jumbled assortment of the tubes necessary to assemble the sweeper hopper. Then the real fun began as the parts list didn’t exactly match what was actually included in the box. Apparently, somewhere along the way, the Chinese manufacturer decided to change a couple parts, but didn’t think it necessary to change the instructions to match. Fortunately, I consider myself to be a reasonably capable handyman, so I figured out how things should be in short order. Specifically, the part that no longer exists is the “lower mount bracket” as it is apparently no longer needed. Also, a part not shown that was in the box and needed is the “front hopper metal bar”, which is part # 74 on the parts list in the back of the instructions and gets installed in the sleeve along the front bottom edge of the hopper floor. I also added a few washers in a couple spots where I thought it best on the height adjuster assy. pivot and it’s attachment bolts. I also recommend trashing the very light duty (re:worthless) hairpin type pins (ref#”O” on the hardware parts listing) that hold the hopper on and replacing them with better ones that actually have some tension to keep them in place. If you do not do that right up front, you will just end up having replace both them and their respective clevis pins after they fall out and the sweeper hopper falls off. Now, on the plus side, I noticed that this sweeper is made with a slightly heavier gauge steel than similar sweepers made by AgriFab and Ohio Steel, both of which I looked over closely at a local farm store, it costs far less, has a very handy height adjuster that none of the other have (necessary if you have gravel drives as I do), and a full mesh fabric hopper (excepting the bottom, of course) to allow dust to blow right through and away. I do strongly suggest that if you decide to purchase this sweeper that you do keep the nice big picture on the lid right close by as a much better guide as to how the unit should look as you (attempt) to assemble it in 3 quick steps (LOL). One other thing that they changed and and “forgot” to mention is the hitch assembly, which shows as being bolted to the tongue, but is actually welded on. To change the hitch height to be lower, you will need to unbolt the entore tow bar, flip it over, and bolt it back together.
