Clear Ice is the Way to Go – I am a heavy user of ice and the refrigerator doesn’t really hold up to my needs so for twenty years I’ve had $80-150 ice makers doing its thing day and night. They don’t last forever, but I am happy with anything that can give me four or five years of continuous use.

One little problem – It works just fine. When it releases the ice the block of cubes doesn’t fall far enough away from the switch to allow it to continue running even if it’s not full. Also….not really clear ice at all. It’s a soft ice but being smaller cubes it seems to cool your drink off very nicely!

It’s alright… – We had a new air ice maker that was pretty much in constant use for several years and it finally stopped working so we bought this one. I’m not a huge fan of the way it makes the ice; the cubes all stick together and dont break off from the frozen chunk well. We followed all the directions and the ice is definitely not clear either which doesn’t bother me but it says clear ice and that if it’s not clear you need to clean it; we’ve cleaned it several times and we only used bottled water in this and it’s still not clear.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! – I adore my icemaker. After 10.5 months the cooling unit evidentially went out, it has a 1 year warranty. I contacted Newair. I told them about the problem via e-mail. They responded within 1 hour and had it resolved within 3 hours absolutely to my satisfaction!!! WELL PLAYED NEWAIR!!! I will never hesitate to use a company that stands behind their work!
