Dents – The product is working, however, the internal light is on the freezer door, and this light flashes as you move the door. Another observation was that the product arrived with some dents. But everything else is fine, it’s freezing normally.

Very Pleased So Far – Delivery of this freezer on September 1, 2022 was smooth, and set-up was a breeze with clear instructions. After reading reviews of a number of compact chest freezers, I selected this one, based in part on a review by Denise Jordan on her “This and That” YouTube channel. Although she received this freezer as a promotion, she is a mature YouTuber who offers old-fashioned, down-to-earth, practical information. This freezer is 6.7 cubic feet, yet it fits perfectly on a wall in my small dining area. They don’t call them “deep freezer” for nothing, as this Newair is spacious for the size. It features a “shelf” and a rather small, thin sliding basket. The temperature display and control is on the top front of the freezer (exterior), and there is a light on the inside of the freezer. The lining of this freezer looks somewhat like aluminum foil, which is different from a couple of chest freezers I had in the past, which had enamaled interiors, that sometimes cracked and flaked in places, exposing surfaces to rust. When I wiped down the interior, I noticed a gray residue on my cleaning cloth (oxidation?). I wiped until no more discoloration appeared on my cleaning cloth. I did use the Fast Freezing feature initially, then I reset the temperature, and I am glad I did! Four days after getting this freezer, we had a storm that knocked out the power for 11 hours. I disconnected the freezer per instructions in the case of a power interruption, and I DID NOT OPEN the freezer during the outage to keep things cold. When power was restored, I checked and was pleasantly surprised to note that the contents (not many items so far) were still frozen solid! So far, this freezer has been WHISPER QUIET. When I have been working nearby, I cannot hear it. I did purchase extra warranty. I’m impressed with this Newair so far.

Dead after just 1 year – Worked great for about a year, during which I started stocking up on frozen goods… and then come winter it stopped freezing, the temperature has been slowly rising and is now 34 degrees… and things are starting to thaw. So I have to start using or canning like a years worth of food all at once or it’s going to go bad. What a waste of money and food.
