LG ice maker – My LG rerigerator stopped dispensing ice – so after a bit of research i found that it was this little / in-expensive piece that would fix it. Saved myself $100’s by researching and not calling a repair man. Part was perfect and I now have ICE 🙂

LG LFX25991ST – This was the correct part for my fridge. From finding a video on youtube, if when pressing the arm to dispense ice and the light does not come on and nothing come out, this is the part you need. If the light comes on and the ice does not come out, this doesn’t need to be replaced. I stuck a putty knife into the gap between the panel and the door and put a rubber spatula below the putty knife where I was prying to protect the finish. Working my way around, I got the bottom undone and a little of the left side. After that, I held the door shut and gave it a good pull and the whole thing popped right out. Disconnect the staggered wire clips and remove one screw. Replace the switch and push the panel back in place. It took me about 5 minutes. Easiest thing on my to do list today is now done. I think I’ll take a nap.

It was caked up with calcium deposits from our extremely hard water splashing on it. The fridge filter can only do so much. I suspect that the same thing will happen to this new part in a few years so it’s a good thing that I have a second one. VERY easy to install and put into use. I highly recommend.
