Light only in top-shelf – While this is a split unit, there is only lighting in the top-shelves. There is a divider for two different cooling zones and there is no light in the bottom section. There is no practical reason for this, so I guess they just decided no one would notice or care.

Does it’s job but is not silent – The cooler does a good job of keeping the wine chilled as programed. It is quieter than normal refrigeration technology but it is not silent, when cooling there is a distinct hum. Also, if ever the power is interrupted the unit resets to 12 degrees C.

Moreover, the shipment/packaging was truly awful. The outside package was broken and stitched in several parts, and also the wine cooler itself is damaged on a side (has a bump) and is scratched in the inside. It was a gift and the person who received it said he wants to keep it anyway, but probably just not to disappoint me. Anyway, I am very frustrated with this purchase, for how it made me look bad, and I am disappointed at the poor care that Amazon has with such expensive and precious items.
