Very sleek – Set out to look for a vent hood that was slim enough to sit just underneath the upper cabinet above our stove. The existing one installed by the builder was large and hung so low that anytime I cooked on the stove, I had to duck otherwise I would get a severe head injury. The existing hood – knowing I was utterly clumsy – was bound and determined to leave a nice indent in my head. RUDE!

On High, Quieter than an air fryer but… – … it arrived damaged and missing a rivet on the back the damage kept it from going flush against the wall but minimal.

– Came and was installed. Sagged on both sides of vent because there is no support except center part. This made a Gap on both sides of cupboard. Then the lights didn’t work and we had to have someone come to our house to service because it had already been installed. This was covered but still had to take 1/2 day off work. Hope it lasts!!!

Good hood, poor packaging – If anyone from Kobe is reading this, the packaging needs to be improved. The box is solid and the hood itself arrived undamaged, but when I opened the box it was filled with a million little bits of styrofoam. In transit the fan housing, mainly the mounting brackets, had shredded one of the protective styrofoam panels. (Sandwiching the styrofoam in sturdy cardboard, at least on the inside face, should solve this.) The hood was in a plastic bag but the bag wasn’t big enough to fully enclose it and wasn’t taped, so bits of styrofoam were in every corner inside the hood. After vacuuming up all I could see I hooked up the hood in the garage to test it. When I turned it on more styrofoam poured out of the exhaust vent. i noticed a squeaking or whistling sound at low speed which ended up being due to a piece of styrofoam wedged between the fan drum and housing. I spent at least an hour cleaning bits of styrofoam out of the hood and my garage floor. Even if you don’t see bits of styrofoam floating around the box or hood you should definitely set it up and run it before installing it.

Made very cheaply but good bargain – This is a pretty good bargain if you buy the scratch and dent version from Amazon for $200. Ours came in greate condition, the only problem was a small scratch in an area you can’t see once it’s installed anyway so who cares? If I had to pay more than $200 for this I would be a bit unhappy due to the quality or lack thereof for the unit. The LED lights are a bit harsh and have a terrible color temperature and flicker slightly. This is VERY easy to modify and remote the blower in the attic if you were so inclined. I did that and it’s great, makes for much quieter experience. You will need to lengthen the control wires, and you will need to fabricate a small metal plate to cover the hole once you remove the fan housing. You’re going to need another metal plate for the side of the fan housing. You will need two rectangular to 6″ adapters to attach to the top of the collection unit and to the fan housing. I suggest you also get a couple eye hooks with 1/4″ threads to hang the fan assembly once you’ve remoted it, as well as some HVAC noise dampening hangers to hang from.
