Dual Zone Temp Regulation is Off – I purchased this refrigerator about a month ago. I’ve been monitoring the upper and lower zone temperatures with a fridge thermometer. Despite setting the lower zone for 55F, and 40°F for the upper zone, the upper zone tends to fluctuate anywhere between 48 to 52° depending on whether the compressor is on or off. The upper zone fails to ever reach 40. I’m not sure whether this is normal, I reached out to Kalamera customer service several days ago but they have not yet responded. The lower zone remains fairly constant at 55°.

Many times I think I have it closed, only to find out that that wasn’t the case and water will pool up at the bottom. Now I’m more diligent!

So I opted to save money on the purchase (who pays $900 for a mini fridge essentially?), and chose this brand based on it’s availability among many retailers, and the overall number of reviews that seemed to be positive. We are using this as a standalone, it is between a wall and cabinet where we have about 16″ of space, so it fits perfectly, but is not under a counter or anything like that. We have loaded it up with about 20 bottles of various sizes, and have space to fit at least another half a dozen or more. The wider bottles fit on the taller bottom shelf. The top shelf is also a bit taller and can fit wider bottles. You may need to slide out the shelf, put the bottle on it, then slide it in to get it to fit in.

However, if the bottles aren’t the expected size, you won’t be able to fit 5 on a tray. I have quite a few bottles that seem to be oversized, either wider than expected or the neck doesn’t taper as low as expected. I ended up only being able to fit 4 on a rack, and they don’t all rest in the grooves between the slats. This also causes some of the shelves get caught on the bottles when trying to slide them out. It’s a minor annoyance for an otherwise great unit.

Does not hold 30 red bottles – It’s a very nice fridge and fits perfectly. It’s quiet and cooked quickly. However, it’s misleading that this fridge can hold 30 bottles. I realize you are supposed to alternate the bottles, and this would be appropriate with white wine bottles with longer necks. If you are trying to do this with standard red wine (not Pinot noir), then you will likely struggle getting that 5th bottle per row. My fridge really only holds 24 bottles, not 30. Disappointing as this is $600!
