Works great when used right. – After seeing so many negative reviews we decided to purchase this mini kegerator. It really does help to have some knowledge about draft systems and how they work. The mistake that most people make is giving it too much Co2 and then complaining of too much foam. You got to realize that YOU are the regulator with these kind of systems. In other words the Co2 dial is basically like a garden hose in that it doesn’t automatically stop at a certain pressure no matter how much or how little you turn it on. It will eventually just empty out all the co2 into the mini keg and then all you will get is foam. It needs to be either “on” or “off”. What we do is after we install tap into mini keg and place into mini kegerator, we hook it up to the 2 hose attachments then fill up glass until it starts to pour very little beer. We then turn co2 on for about 5 seconds and then turn off. This provides enough pressure to provide a well poured beer with a proper head. Also it’s good to pre-chill the mini keg in a regular household refrigerator before hooking it up and pouring beers. We use a Gatorade bottle filled with cold water and it provides the perfect amount of water to fill basin and will steadily keep beer at 36f. Another thing is there are about 3 different type bungs that come on these commercially sold 5 liter mini kegs. 2 of them have a rubber rim and work fine without having to completely remove and replace the bung that comes with the the mini keg. But one type such as the one that comes with Fruh kolsch 5 liter mini kegs must be completely removed because it is all plastic with no rubber rim to seal. The unit does comes with a reusable rubber bung that you place into the mini keg and use We made our own tools consisting of panel pulling pliers and tools that work easily and hassle free to remove these type of bungs that must be removed. We do have a full size kegerator and keep full size kegs for draft at home but we do like to serve 5 liter mini kegs of various German beers as “special guests” and we are very happy with this mini kegerator. But for those new to this, it really helps to watch YouTube videos so to get at least a general understanding of how these systems work before giving up and writing a trash review.

I just love my little kegerator! – I’ve had this a couple of months now, and after the initial trial run I’ve come to like it. The first mini keg was difficult to set up. But the 2nd one was much easier. It takes a little time to figure out when to use the co2. If I use it while pouring it seems to foam, but if I pouring and then fill the empty space with co2 it works much better. You can hear when it’s full. I haven’t found anywhere to fill the growler that comes with it, but mini kegs have been easy to find. Stays constantly at 39-40 degrees. Some say the fan is loud but I don’t even notice it. Mini keg lasts about 30 day before it starts to get flat. Hope it lasts for a while because I’m really enjoying having it

Great for the home bar! – If you don’t understand why someone would like to have a beer tap in their home without the bulk of a kegerator, you’re not going to like this. For everyone else, this is for you!
