Life changing – My house and my clothes used to smell like the food I cook. If I sauteed onions and garlic, I would smell like sauteed onions and garlic. If I pan fried a steak, I would smell like steak. If I fried anything – I smelled like a fast food worker after an eight hour shift. My poor kids’ eyes would tear up from sauteed onion fumes, while they were sitting 20 feet away.

Wart on a Princess – I purchased and installed the Hauslane 30″ PS10 Range Hood. First the Princess…the exhaust fan assembly is very well built and very attractive. It moves a lot of air and the noise level when the two high quality squirrel cage fans are on is reasonable. It is a little difficult to mount and instead of the 4 wood screws from the bottom, I chose through bolts from above with backer nuts for a more secure fit. It should have rounded corners on the front but after cracking my forehead a couple of times, I got used to it. The control panel and under hood lights are very nice. It doesn’t have a clock which is a bonus if you don’t like to reset clocks twice a year. I wish the fan could be turned off without turning the entire unit off.

Pretty nice … so far – The appliance itself runs smoothly – no issues with display so far. Quiet, and removes smoke well. Different settings for fan and lights are a great addition. Also, though we haven’t done this yet, it looks like a pretty easy process to clean. Nice looking, also. Installation was tricky – had to hire appliance installers, but it was worth it. The unit we received did have some minor scratches, which was a bit of a bummer, but again, pretty strong appliance in general. Would give 5 stars if it wasn’t scratched (and I’m really talking very minor, hardly noticeable blemishes), and I do overall recommend it.

Great suction power for cost. – We installed in a new kitchen over a gas range and wanted to make sure we kept odors and vapors out of the house. In addition, we were always setting off the smoke detectors. This unit has great suction power when installed correctly. We used no 90 deg bends, 6 in duct and straight out the roof. We use it at level 1 fan most of the time and even at that setting it is still pretty noisy. At speed 3 it is quite loud but pulls a ton of air and you can cook bluefish with no odor escaping. We installed 28 inches off the range surface.

Service when it matters! – Service when it matters. 6-months into use, one of the LED bulbs quit working. I emailed Hauslane and got a rapid response. Once I provided them with my Amazon order number, they sent me an email confirmation for shipment of a new part – Free of Charge.

Plan, plan, Plan – You need more then the installation tools listed in the instructions. It’s didn’t take 10 hours, but more like 5. If you have a rectangles duct you will need to get a 6in to 3 1/4 duct converter to go from round to rectangle. I also had to buy flex tube to complete to the connection.
