Not like the original Opal. – When the original Opal refilled the holding tank, water ran down the back wall behind the drawer. On this GE Opal, as soon as you remove ice and close the drawer it pumps water into the drawer melting about a third of the ice already formed. Don’t close the drawer if you need to fill multiple glasses.

Don’t waste your money! – We bought the Opal during Prime day and was excited to get it and enjoy the pellet ice it makes. It arrived and we ran it the the cleaning cycle and went through all the set up procedures. The machine worked great for 3 days then on the 4th day the compressor stopped working. We got in touch with the seller and they shipped us a new one immediately. The new one arrived and we followed the setup steps and switched it to the ice making setting. The new one made a half a cup of ice and stopped working. These things are not designed to work apparently.
