Nice, but say “goodbye” to your drawers. Good and bad aspects. – After 15 years I had to replace my Jenn-Air glass top stove when a flashlight fell from the vent hood and broke a corner. (Grump!) I didn’t want an inductance stove and Consumer Reports gave the GE JP5030SJSS 30″ radiant stove high marks. I bought the stove and, of course, Amazon reduced the price $110 the next day! (Double grump.)

Product Failed after 26 Months – Our stove top failed after 26 months. The large burner, which functioned well over the 26 months, completely failed. We are fairly handy so used YouTube videos to diagnose the problem and try to fix it rather than pay bigger bucks to have a service person come in to do it. Bottom line, the burner failed and we were able to find a replacement, which cost us a total of about $100. We successfully installed it, but now the heat doesn’t regulate properly. It may be that the switch failed too. To say we’re disappointed in a product that cost us $1,1000 that lasted only two years is an understatement. The age of expensive disposable appliances is frustrating!

First one Bad, Second one Good… – Package arrived in make shift box anchor brackets not in the box. had to close in the hole due to component having and smaller profile, this was no fault to GE Stove Top. Completed retro fit and wired up all according to plans no problem. Stove turn on and worked as designed for one meal. Three hours later an error code labeled E7 appeared. Translation, buttons stuck being a flat top and all digital there is no correction. Remove the stove, being that hole had been modified needed to have the same measurement profile. Reordered from Appliance Center received and installed happy to say so far no issues and cooks very well. Still waiting on refund for first unit from FiFi and Amazon, its only been a couple of days we will see if they stand behind what they advertise in the next 7 days.

I got the replacement. The service is excellent – We bought it on 03/2020, 9 inch burner’s limiter (heat sensor) was burnt out. We replaced it. it is not big deal. on 07/2022, the cooktop glass is broken. It is replaced by GE service team. We bought the insurance when we bought this cooktop. That saves us lots of money. It is recommended to buy the insurance as long as you can afford. It is good product. We are heaviest cooker at home.

Yeah, I Hesitated Too…… – This cooktop is awesome! We christened it last night by cooking corn and rice. It heats up very quickly and, ok, did I mention the “cool factor? With no knobs to see or feel, just pressing LED touch sensitive controls, gives me the feeling that I’m Geordi LaForge cooking dinner for Capt. Picard aboard the Starship Enterprise!

So far, So good – So far so good. Heats very rapidly. Have had bad luck with longevity with GE appliances in the past, but bought a GE microwave 2 years ago and still going strong….maybe GE fixed their QC problems? Time will tell

So, I decided to settle with a radiant type. This cooktop seem to be one of the best rated radiant cooktops both here in Amazon and Consumer Reports. So, I decided to go work it.
