One glaring problem – Wonderful machine except…….. It does a great job. Drops a tray of Ice about every seven minuets. Interestingly, a tray is nine cubes. Here s the problem. They tell you in the manual not to tip the machine past 45 degrees or you might mess up the compressor BUT!!! I cannot remove the drain plug from the water tank with my hands. It requires a pair of pliers. I m no shrinking violet and I can do most anything I set my mind to but this is impossible. It is a rather stiff plastic plug with very little to grasp when you try to remove it. Makes me think it’s designed by the same people who design airline seats. May be they should try to use them before they go out and sell them. I need to tip the machine up to see the plug and get a pair of pliers on it. I try not to go past 45 degrees but it is almost impossible. How about a petcock like they use in radiators or one of those rubber plugs you turn the T-bar on to expand and seal it. Something easy to use. Wrong way to save 25 cents folks.

Great Icemaker – I browsed many ice makers online for many months before I finally picked this one. I have only had it a couple of weeks but I am very pleased with it so far.

Fair quality for the price – We like the size of ice bullets as long as I keep the setting on Large. One reservoir filled to Max provides 1 gallon baggie of ice and takes 2 hours to complete. The one suggestion I have to improve unit is to put a better quality plug in bottom of reservoir, the one provided with unit is flexible plastic.

The Good Ice & Easy to Drain – UPDATE: After 2.5 months I learned if I use really cold water the cubes will be bigger than if I use room temperature water. I freeze water in a 16 ounce sour cream container to give me a good size ice cube then I put that in the ice maker reservoir and fill with tap water.

Ease of Use – I love how easy the machine is to use. Just add water to the fill line and within 7 minutes I have the first drop of ice. I love the ice. I find I am drinking a lot more water because I love crunching on the ice. I like that I can put filtered water in it so I know I am getting clean ice. It is simple to drain when finished. I just pull the machine over to the edge of the countertop, remove the plug underneath and let the water flow into a container that I am holding under it. Very simple to use and makes ice really fast. I just empty the ice into a large ziplock bag and store it in my freezer. I have ice whenever I want it. I also bought one for my 83 year old mother. She loves it as well.
