Use a hairdryer or petroleum Jelly – I hated that I had to pay so much money for this door gasket, I paid less for the actual freezer used. However, it fit perfectly and my wife is very happy now that the frost free freezer is not frosting up around the light and the door. Anyway, I own an appliance business so here are a few tips on install.some people remove the door and install the gasket on a flat surface but it’s not compulsory, Do Not remove the screws, just loosen them enough to get the gasket under the trim then tighten. When you unpack the gasket it will be kinked and the door won’t close properly, here is how you solve that. If you live in a place that’s sunny and warm, lay the gasket out flat in the sun for 20 mins or so, if it’s not warm outside you can soak the gasket in hot water for 10 minutes. Another way to do it is to install the gasket then use a hairdryer to help form it into shape or a heat gun if you have one. Plastic is way more flexible when it’s warm. I didn’t do that with mine, I smeared petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) all around the gasket where the gasket touches the frame, then I pushed the door shut with pressure until it was sealed all the way around. We left it overnight and the next day it was formed perfectly, the Vaseline makes the rubber more flexible. You can wipe it off after a week. Good advice on all fridge and freezer doors is to smear a thin layer of Vaseline on the door seals once every 6 months to keep them flexible. Also, check under the base of the door, there may be two circles that are check valves, make sure they aren’t clogged or broken, you can look up “freezer door vent” for more info. If it’s not the door seal causing your frosting up it could be a broken check valve.

Very easy to install – I have been so busy with the garden and animals that I ask the kids to do it, they said we dont know how I said I watched you tube and its very easy, told them how and they had it done in less then 15 minutes! My freezer is not beeping at me any more and no more ice built up on the door!!! Woohooo!

It fits, but you need to listen all the screws to get I on. – Power screwdriver or drill is very helpful. There are a lot of screws holding the bracket that secures the door seal.

Happy with this replacement gasket! – This item replaced a magnetic freezer door gasket. Installation was made easier after taking hints from YouTube University. I did lay the freezer on it’s back and opened the door to support it on a saw horse, since it wasn’t removable. Gasket looks good after installation. Shipping was excellent, packed in a nice cardboard box. It was NOT wadded up in a bag. It should create less frost in this frost free freezer.

This fit our older Frigidaire upright freezer perfectly. Working great months later – I saw how many screws were involved and how easy was to mess up. Our appliance guy was scheduled for our ac check up so I spent 20 bucks and let him do it super fast. Warm it up a bit and use a tiny electric screw driver. Do not remove the screws just loosen them enough to slip this right in place. My appliance guy made it look easy. The gasket was new and a perfect fit. There were two kinks from it being forced into a folded square but the heat gun and pressure from the door fixed that in 24 hours. I gently used my fingers after door was closed to plump it up twice during those two days. It got here days quicker and cheaper than sears or local appliance repair company. Thanks Prime.

easy to install – easy installation, loosen retaining screws as far as you can, fits tight and snug as a glove. seals as advertised.

  8. A. A (verified owner)

Doesn’t fit properly – This seal is garbage. It doesn’t fit the door properly and doesn’t make a good seal to the freezer. Comparing it to the original it is about 3/4 of the right thickness and much more flimsy. The product came all wadded and twisted up in a bag and the rubber material is all compressed together allowing a gap between the door and freezer when the door is closed. This is a very cheaply made aftermarket product with a zero chance of working as it’s supposed to. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this. I wish I didn’t.

  9. N. P (verified owner)

Good – I would Put for it 5 stars Except the lower left corner doesn’t seal all the way the corner kind of compressed over all it’s good
