Fools everyone! – We remodeled our kitchen over the past year. I never planned on a “real” remodel. You know how that goes. Started with painting the cabinets and ended up with a new kitchen. We did all of the work ourselves. I had no intention of buying a new fridge or dishwasher. Ours worked fine and we liked them a lot. But ours were black and they stuck out like a sore thumb. Or, as my kitchen designer would say, a black hole. They sucked your eyes to them against the white a gray cabinets. So, I figured, what do we have to lose. We spent an entire day on the project. My husband removed the doors from the fridge and the DW to apply the film. Our fridge is textured and unless you are standing right next to it, you don’t notice. The only problem we ran into is our doors have rounded sides and that makes it a little challenging to cut and lay it properly without leaving bumps. So, again, if you looked closely at the tops and bottoms of the doors, you’d see the folds. But it has changed the kitchen dramatically. Now we can use these appliances until they die instead of spending $1500 – $2000 unnecessarily. Highly recommend. But, only install with your most anal/OCD friends. This is not something you can slap on and move around. You only have a small window of opportunity to do it right. Oh, and we also put it on the side of our black coffee maker. You’d never know.

Better than the others – If you are trying to match existing stainless steel this will be the closest (but not perfect). I ended up ordering some of the less expensive options first (trying to save a buck or two) that was a mistake, they are not even close to actual stainless steel. This one is MUCH more expensive but is a better match. They should give an option of vertical or horizontal brush marks.

Not a one-man job, but easier than I thought! – I thought from other reviews this product would be hard to work with, but it actually went ‘pretty well’ for me. I could have used an extra set of hands during install, though, as the paper is heavy to hold up while you are trying to peel the backing off and rub out air bubbles at the same time.. The adhesive paper is thick enough to peel off and re-place without wrinkling – just be careful not to fold the paper/crease it as this will leave a line… I peeled and re-laid one piece about 10 times because I couldn’t get the edge straight to the line of the fridge (my fault, not the papers). The trick is to start in a corner and peel back the paper backing just a little bit.. rub the corner down and then continue in a diagonal down the appliance – as you peel away more of the backing with one hand (slowly and an inch at a time), rub your thumb all along the diagonal area where the adhesive is exposed / makes contact… this worked really well and I avoided many air bubbles because I could see them and rub them out as I went. The included tool didn’t do much for me… but a hard-pressed thumb did the trick. I love how they turned out. Only hard part I had was on the edges that were slightly rounded – the paper didn’t hold well at first… so I used a very hot hair dryer and then rubbed them down to get them to stick. I had quite a bit leftover stainless paper after a fridge and dishwasher and was looking for other things to cover because I loved the project. The cat will never be the same. : )

I have a new looking refrigerator!! – I purchased the EZ Decor Stainless Steel Peel and Stick to spruce-up our 20-year-old refrigerator that is in our basement kitchen. I knew my husband would roll his eyes at the idea of putting a sticker on a refrigerator, so I did not really tell him my idea. Therefore, I was alone in working this project. I was a little nervous because I had read that you need two people to get it done. I prepped the surface like instructed and got to work. The application process was incredibly easy for me. Of course the first strip is the hardest, as that is how you learn. So, I made the mistake of using the wrong end of the squeegee in one spot (not the felt side) and it scratched the surface a little. However, you cannot see it very much. The entire project was easy. Here are my tips:
