Great cook top – After going thru 2 other expensive cooktops in 20 years, the new one that came with our new house, and a pricey Kitchen Aid unit that lasted less than 7 years, we decided to go cheap this time. And it works just fine. Only thing we noticed is you can hear the gas flowing at higher temp settings, but we got used to that. I try to clean up spills quickly, and follow up with a spray stainless steel cleaner / polish. It cleans easily and looks like new.

Very disappointing purchase – After using this cook top for several weeks I am not feeling like I got my money’s worth. This unit replaced an Amana four burner that was 15+ years old. I did convert this unit to LP, which was relatively painless with the supplied kit. The small burner (listed at 4000 BTU) which is stated to be able to simmer does no such thing. Anything you use it for boils, and when you adjust the flame from high to low, the visual appearance is barely noticeable on flame height. We didn’t have this much of an issue with out old unit, which had a burner rating of 4500 BTU.

I hope this will keep its looks longer than the glass one did. Even though I used the glass polish cleaner, it did not really keep the glass cooktop from showing its age, so I went for this one. It’s great, heats quickly and evenly, a breeze to clean, centrally located dials give you more space for big pots and pans. I like the styling and it was a breeze to install, under 1/2 hour since it was the same size as my GE glass cooktop. No complaints. I hope it keeps its looks longer than the glass one. I cook daily, use the cooktop constantly in summer. Nothing but good results so far.
