      Great Vent Hood for the money – We (wife and I) received the vent hood in a timely manner (a day ahead of schedule even with Christmas rush), we read lots of reviews & decided to install it ourselves. We used YouTube videos for guidance, borrowed a metal cutting tool, and were able to have it installed in about 6 hours, which included rewiring a socket for it. It looks great, and we are very pleased that it has variable speeds and levels of quietness.

      Pricey, but Works – I’ve honestly only had the chance to use this once. It took a while to clear the smoke, but it wasn’t too long. I’m a bit out of shape, so even with help, this was a pain to install. Still, it wasn’t that complicated, and it appears that it’s securely fastened to the ceiling beams now. Will provide updates if anything changes. Wish there was a less expensive one available, but for what I paid, I think I mostly got my money’s worth. Again, time will tell.

      Looks good, confusing instructions. – Hood came in in good shape but was missing the baffle. Called customer service and they were very helpful and agreed to send one out. Also helpful with deciphering the instructions. The booklet tells you that you need a 1/2″ drill for the electric plug but it doesn’t tell you where to drill it and that the 1/2″ is not the correct size. It actually tells you very little about the electrical hookup. CS told me to drill through the mounting plate beside the vent tube hole and through the ceiling. You’ll need at least a 1″ bit. The directions also make it look like the 6″ offset exhaust hole is at the front. It is in the back of the unit. Also it says that you can set the unit a minimum 23.5″ below the ceiling. This is not true without modifications to the chimney piece. I haven’t tackled that yet. I will update when I’m finished. It is an attractive appliance. But the instructions are severely lacking for an american company.
