great light – This range hood has a great 2 level light. motor is quit. But the light is outstanding, you can see what is in the pot and it is set to see all 4 burners

Hope ours was one of a kind – It’s a sleek attractive rang hood. I purchased this for my mother-in-law’ kitchen. After making changes to the cabinet to accept this unit the installation was fairly straight forward. I chose not to use the included mounting brackets, they would have required the install of additional shims under the cabinet. After install and wiring the light is nice and bright, however the fan would not move. The plastic fan rubbed against the shroud, requiring brute force adjustments. It appeared that it was not assembled correctly. After the adjustment the fan worked well. Perhaps ours was one of a kind and others won’t have this issue.

Ease of Installation – I replaced my over the range microwave oven with the Broan range vent . I looked at the cheaper brands first , but settled on this Broan because of past product experience. Quality, and ease of Installation are great. This product offers both round and rectangular venting , since I had rectangular venting that was the deciding factor. With this product you just remove the metal punched parts you need to use which venting that you have . Note : I did not have to purchase anything extra for my venting option . But since I wanted to plug in my vent I did have to purchase a cord . Watch install video online before starting , it took me about 1 hour to install.

Nice unit but… – As others have mentioned the design leaves a small gap between the bottom of the cabinets and the hood. Not a big deal at my house unless you are over 6’2″ tall. The light, even on the lowest setting, is a little too bright. A couple of tips if you are going to install yourself 1) when I removed the old hood I found out the homebuilder didn’t punch out the vent slot on the original hood. This is why it was not working, live and learn 2) you will need a grounded power plug if your current setup has an outlet in the cabinet 3) you will need a strain reliever for the power cord, not sure why this wasn’t included and will require a trip to the hardware store if you can’t salvage the part off the old hood 4) before finishing the installation and installing the screens, turn the fan on low me high and make sure the vent flapper is free to open all the way and closes when the fan is turned off. Otherwise a nice unit and the fan is reasonably quite on low and med.

Geeat choice quiet and exhausts well – Liked the multiple mounting options. Easy connection to ductwork and electrical. Led is bright and fan 3 speeds are plus. Filters easy to remove and clean. Will see how durable it is.
