easy fix (mostly), sorry I waited – The old light switch had been going bad for a while. Sometimes, the light would stay out when you opened the door, but then come on if you jiggled the switch a little. I was good with that, but it eventually failed outright.

  2. P. K (verified owner)

Perfect fit and function – Exact replacement for the original part

It’s a Switch. – It’s a switch – works as advertised. Fits the correct model. Saves you the $90+ service fee and the $30+ an appliance repair would charge. The old one pops out, new one pops in. You can find videos put out by SubZero that demonstrates how to do it. It took me 10 min to complete the repair.

Perfect Fit (Sub Zero 532) – Our fridge light went out in our Sub Zero 532, which is a pretty old model. We could tell it was the switch rather than the light because jiggling the switch would turn on the light.

Really easy replacement for issue of light not coming on when door is open – Anyone who owns a SubZero can tell you what a headache it is when something breaks. Where I live the only “authorized” dealer charges a huge service fee to just come out and troubleshoot the issue. They don’t even offer credit if you make the repair. So when I saw that something simple like this switch on my 690 broke, I was determined to not have to spend a fortune to fix it. The replacement of this switch is super easy. Just turn the power off, remove the grill cover, and the switch is right up front over the door. There is a protective metal cover over both switches that has to be removed first. The screw is phillips and is on the back side of the cover…kind of hard to see, but you can feel around. After the metal cover is removed, unplug the light switch leads (yellow and orange on my 690) and use a flathead screwdriver to push the tab in while pushing down on the switch with your finger. It will pop right out. Insert the new switch until the tab clicks into place. Replace the leads (remember to see which color went where), and you are in business. It is really that simple. I saved myself a ton of money and headache waiting on a repair person. Good Luck!

It works! – My parents have been without light in their refrigerator for years. They just didn’t want to spend the money on a service call for something that is just a convenience. Being the nice son I am, I bought the switch and installed it. My parents are quite happy with the light and my sister is very concerned that she may lose her share of the inheritance. She really should worry, as I’m the caring child who didn’t want them to be in the dark.

Exactly what my Sub-Zero 611 needed! – I called Sub-zero because my refrigerator light and the panel was not lighting up. First, i changed the light bulbs to no avail. I called Sub-zero and i guess this is a common problem because the woman told me i have two options. Have a technician go there (pricey) or fix the switch myself. She was kind enough to send me directions via email as well. Reading other Amazon reviews i thought this was going to be pretty easy. It was if you have the “star” screwdriver. I had no problem unscrewing the panel or the cover, it was just the flap covering both of the switches. In addition, it was a bit hard to pull the wires out (bluish white and red) but once you do its smooth sailing from there. I popped the new one back in. Screwed everything back on and guess what? My refrigerator is glowing. 🙂 The panel and the inside light up. I am very thankful as its been years since it has been working (don’t ask). Thank you to all the reviewers here that offered their advice as well.

Simple o install – Product works, easy to install (although I had to watch an on line tutorial first). Once connected, lights work right away with this switch. Great for the cost.
