I replaced the temperature control as part of troubleshooting, but I think it ended up being the freezer defrost sensor. This temperature control was super easy to install and is working fine so I will leave it in place. I have had no issues with this at all since installing.

Not an OEM thermostat but OK to buy. – I was a professional maintenance for almost 25 years. The differential on these ‘cold controls’ should be [about] 3 degrees. When you have the pointer on the dial pointed to the arrow at the top of the marked housing that holds the knob, your temperature inside your refrigerator should read 38 degrees.

I received two defective products – First unit I received, kept the refrigeration Department 29 to 33°f freezing would dialed to the warmest setting, freezing vegetables. Regardless of what dialed setting I had the thermostat on it runs at or below freezing. Amazon sent me a replacement, and it’s performing the same as the first unit actually worse. See photos, I have my thermostat dialed below position number 1, the warmest setting, and my refrigerator temperature is 29° f. Runs way too cold it doesn’t respond to different thermostat settings. Two units in a row this has happened with this primeswift product. Maybe the third replacement may work properly, let’s see.

If it turns on when it’s supposed to but just doesn’t cool correctly, check your Freon level. 8 psi on the low side is a good set point. Heat on the back coil should be warm top to bottom. If it is hot to cool, then the Freon is low.
