These springs saved me over $100! – I spent hours searching the internet for the correct springs for the door flipper on our Kenmore refrigerator. No one listed the model we had, so I had to go by the photos. The spring fit fine, was easy to install and saved me over $100 for the replacement door flipper assembly. Kenmore did not offer the springs individually. I now have a spare spring!

Took a bit a tweaking but works – Purchased to replace the spring in our door for the LG fridge, model LMX28988ST. My husband had to bend the spring a little but then it popped right in.

Sprung into action immediately – I recently bought a gently used LG French Door fridge that had no door flapper spring so I bought one on Amazon to save some dough. The spring has a little less gauge metal than the original LG spring but it worked just fine. I hope it holds up well for a few more years. It fit my LG LFX28978SW/00 like a glove. No need to remove the flapper from the door. The spring can be installed with the flapper in place. Should not take more than 1 minute to install.

GREAT value – Our LG flapper door in between the 2 french doors had stopped working. It was simple fix. But LG would not warranty it and then wanted $36 for a spring! This was a great value, and to top it off, the fix only requires one spring. (these are sold in pairs) Another Amazon deal.

Don’t buy unless you have a vise and a lot of patience – I bought this for an LG LFX28978SW /01 refrigerator. It is the part required by LG but not made by LG. It’s made in china and has 90 degree bends that aren’t sharp but are too gradual. That makes the part to big to fit properly. If you have the old spring you can use it as a template to modify this inferior knock off. You will need a vise and hammer to shape the 90 degree angle to the correct distance from the spring. Then the pin portion of each angled section will need to be cut shorter or it will be too long to fit the hinge section of the flap properly. Once installed the spring should sit in the middle of the hollow space in the flap, if it doesn’t the flap won’t close all the way.

Almost fit – Even though our model of LG fridge was listed this part wasn’t quite right. The ends needed to be at a 90 degree, not rounded angle. I was able to manipulate it with a lot of hard work to get it to fit.

Used this on a GE Cafe fridge.. – The spring on my GE Cafe (GNE25JSKFFSS) fridge broke. Contacted GE directly and they don’t even sell this spring, but offered to sell me the entire flapper door thingy for $180! Found this one on amazon. This one fit, but didn’t work well as the distance between the legs (vertical parts) and the spring was too long. A couple of minutes with some lineman plyers and I modified the distance to be closer to the broken GE spring. Works perfectly. (Bending/re-bending spring steel is not generally a good idea – take your time and work it slowly!)
